TOGA recently acquired rights to the video from John Perez Graphics and Design. HYDRAULIC FRACING A CONGRESSIONAL TARGET - Recently, the House and Senate approved a $32.2 billion appropriations bill to fund the nation's Department of Interior, as well as other federal environmental agencies. Included in this legislation is a special provision that directs the Environmental Protection Agency to produce another study on hydraulic fracturing study. Many studies on hydraulic fracturing have already been done by the EPA, Department of Energy and the Ground Water Protection Council. Therefore, IPAA has maintained that another study is not necessary. IPAA, cooperating associations and companies created the Energy In Depth coalition (www.energyindepth.org) to defend the industry against new environmental regulations and especially the attacks on hydraulic fracturing. IPAA and its Energy In Depth coalition partners will be working hard to make sure that the new study is scientific, fair and includes the input from not only industry, but also state regulators. In a letter to the Senate Appropriations Committee, ten Senators urged the committee to ensure that the "study should be conducted in a comprehensive, credible, transparent and objective manner."

GILES COUNTY OPPORTUNITY - Barbara Waire believes there is oil on her property in Giles County, Tennessee. She called the TOGA office to see if we can help her find someone interested in helping her fulfill her dream. If anyone is interested in drilling in Giles County, contact her at 931-381-0326.

"IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR WELL, PUT UP A SIGN" At a recent meeting with an operator, Don Owens, Water Pollution Control, asked a TOGA representative to tell all operators that the state was getting more serious about signs on wells. "Tell your members that if they want to keep a well, they need to put up and sign and maintain it," he said. Owens went on to say that wasn't a threat but noted that not having signs on wells is causing a major problem for inspectors, landowners and others. TOGA has excellent signs for sale that can be purchased through the TOGA office. Call Teresa at 615-371-6137. She will mail the signs to you immediately and the invoice later. There are two sizes. One for tank batteries and the smaller sign for gas wells.
