Volume 13, Number 11 November 2006

HURRY! RESERVE YOUR ROOM FOR CHRISTMAS PARTY-The TOGA Christmas party will be held at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, December 2nd at the Hilton-Downtown Knoxville, 501 West Church, Knoxville. You need to make your hotel room reservations by November 9th to guarantee the rate of $99 per room. (You may not even get this newsletter until after November 9th, but you might be able to get the TOGA rate, if you asked. President Wagoner was able to get the hotel to extend the deadline once already. Maybe you can get it extended for you too.) You may contact the hotel by calling 865-523-2300 or 865-251-2578 or 1-800-HILTONS or on the web at www.hilton.com. You will need to use the group code "TOG" when making your reservation to get the special room rate.

NEW CHRISTMAS PARTY FORMAT, $25 CHARGE-The TOGA Christmas party, December 2nd, Downtown Hilton, will feature an open bar, full buffet dinner as well as a reverse raffle of some great Christmas gifts. Although Anne Byrd was willing to shop for and wrap gifts for all in attendance, the decision was made to give her a break and have her buy just a few gifts that will be given away in a reverse raffle. Scott Gilbert is in charge. We will also be charging $25 per person to help cove the cost of the dinner and the open bar.

TOGA BOARD TO MEET PRIOR TO CHRISTMAS PARTY-The TOGA board of directors will meet in the Hilton Downtown Knoxville, at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, December 2nd, prior to the Christmas party, according to President Lynn Wagoner.

SPONSORS NEEDED FOR CHRISTMAS PARTY-The full buffet and open bar at the TOGA Christmas party will cost about $60 per person and we are only charging $25 per person. So we need $100 and $200 sponsors to help cover the costs. Send your check to the TOGA office or let President Wagoner know if you are willing to sponsor. The TOGA office will send you an invoice, if you need it for your expenses.

TOGA ASKS FOR MEETING, BOARD HEARING- The TOGA board voted at the September meeting to ask for a meeting with Paul Schmierbach, Division of Pollution Control, to discuss regulations of pits, abandon wells, shut in gas well tests and other regulatory issues. Schmierbach was contacted on October 12th and responded shortly thereafter, noting he will schedule the requested meeting in the near future.
TOGA also contacted Mike Burton, Assistant Oil & Gas Supervisor, to ask that an Oil & Gas Board Hearing be scheduled to discuss the regulatory issues

OIL & GAS BOARD HEARING CANCELLED-The parties involved in the Oil & Gas Board hearing now scheduled for November 1, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. in Nashville, resolved their disagreement and the hearing was cancelled.

BACK TO NASHVILLE FOR 2007 CONVENTION, MAY 9th -11th- The 2007 TOGA convention will be held May 9th through the 11th at the Embassy Suites, Cool Springs in Williamson County. Cool Springs is the newest, fastest-growing shopping, dining, and entertainment area in the Nashville metropolitan area. President Wagoner and convention co-chairman Bob Nelson have plans for an exciting new format for the event, including an extra day, an off site event and an exhibition area. They suggest making your reservations early. Hotel reservations can be made by calling 1-800-Emnbassy or 615-515-5151.
