CONVENTION UPDATE: 17 EXHIBITORS, 135 ATTENDING, HOTEL SOLD OUT- Some 162 Tennessee Oil & Gas Association members and guests will be attending the 2010 Annual Convention, May 12-14, 2010 at the Marriott Hotel in Knoxville. A total of 17 exhibitors will be showing their goods and services. CONVENTION RAFFLE TO FUND TOGA SCHOLARSHIP - TOGA VP Vicki Griffith is launching a new TOGA Scholarship fund. The scholarship fund drive kicks off with the sale of raffle tickets at the convention. All proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets will go to funding this new scholarship. The drawing will be held on the boat trip Thursday night. You won't have any problem finding someone to sell you a raffle ticket at the convention. Buy early and buy often for a good cause.

OIL & GAS BOARD HEARING, MAY 24TH - The Tennessee Oil & Gas Board will meet Monday, May 24th at 9:00 a.m. in the 17th floor conference room at the L&C Tower, 401 Church Street, Nashville Tennessee. The board has three items on the agenda: National Energy Development is requesting a drilling variance. Rome Oil & Gas is asking for permission to place a vacuum pump on a well in Pickett County, TN. Alan Rader will present a format for a possible rule change for the Mineral Test Hole regulations.

ANNUAL REPORTS DUE - Mike Burton, Oil & Gas Supervisor, has sent a notice to all Tennessee operators, reminding them that annual reports were due April 15th. If the report is not received by May 1st, the well or wells shall be determined to be abandon. The report must include all the operator's wells, producing or not. The report must list the well name and number, permit number, location, current status, production for the year and future plans for the well.

SIGN UP FOR THE 2010 OPRYLAND TOGA CHRISTMAS PARTY - The TOGA 2010 Christmas Party will be held December 11th, 2010 at the OPRYLAND RESORT AND CONVENTION CENTER IN NASHVILLE. Rooms are specially priced at $189 plus taxes, single or double occupancy. Atrium rooms are $35 more. Stay tuned for more information in newsletters and on the TOGA website at www.tennoil.com .

STILL SOME WELL EQUIPMENT FOR SALE_ To settle the estate of Bobby McGraw, his seven Crossville wells have been plugged and the equipment, all in excellent condition, is for sale. The estate is selling: as is, where is: rods, tubing, pump jacks, motors, downhole pumps, 4 ½ inch casing, tanks, walkways, a cable tool rig and a semi-trailer full of fittings. CONSOL ACQUIRES DOMININION'S APPALACHIAN E&P BUSINESS-Consol Energy has entered into an agreement to acquire the Appalachian exploration and production business of Dominion Resources for $3.475 billion in cash. The acquisition makes Consol the largest producer of natural gas in the Appalachian Basin. Consol will acquire a total of 1.46 million oil and gas acres from Dominion along with 9,000 producing wells.
