YOUNG HITS FLOWING WELL IN OVERTON COUNTY- Young Oil Corporation drilled in a 1,400 ft. Murfreesboro well that came in flowing at a rate of 200 barrels an hour through the blowout preventor. After it made several thousand barrels of oil, the flow eased enough to allow Young to get the drill pipe out of the hole and move the rig. The well is now on pump. The new well, the Richard Norrod #1, is eight miles east of Livingston, Tennessee, just past the junction with Tennessee highway 52, on Tennessee highway 85, in Section 9, Township 2S, Range 52 E.

There is a special convention page, with the tentative schedule, registration and sponsor forms and a welcome letter for President Wagoner. All forms can be downloaded and mailed or faxed to the TOGA office.

EXIBITORS SPACE IS SOLD OUT AND OVERFLOWING-"The response to exhibits at this year's convention has been overwhelming," said President Lynn Wagoner. "We have sold out all available space, have a waiting list and will have many exhibitors in the lobby. This will be a great convention. Don't miss it. Get your registration in today," he encouraged.

RESERVE YOUR CONVENTION ROOM NOW- The 2007 TOGA convention, to be held May 9th through the 11th at the Embassy Suites, Cool Springs in Williamson County, is rapidly approaching. President Wagoner and convention co-chairman Bob Nelson suggest making your reservations early. Hotel reservations can be made by calling 1-800-Emnbassy or 615-515-5151.

STATE TO TAKE OVER SITE COORDINATOR TRAINING-During the meeting between state officials, lead by M. Paul Schmierbach, Division of Water Pollution Control, and TOGA officials, led by President Lynn Wagoner, TOGA learned the state plans to take over training of all site coordinators. The state plans to hold two sessions a year and likely will not charge for the training. The TOGA representatives tentatively agreed, but noted that this should be discussed with the TOGA Board of Directors the annual meeting.

LEGISLATORS, REGULATORS LOOKING AT BONDS, REGS-Earlier this year, the TOGA board voted to sponsor a "Stronger" review of state oil and gas regulations. The Stronger review calls for an out of state regulator, oil man and environmentalists to review a state's oil and gas regulations and offer suggestions for changes. The state has now agreed to the review. The Stronger review will be discussed at the annual meeting. The administration's bill to increase plugging bonds is working its way through the legislative process. TOGA's lobbyist is making certain the legislators hear TOGA's position on these proposed increases.

LEASES WITH HISTORY AVAILABLE- Gene and Paula Travis own mineral rights to their land in Bethpage, TN, just south of Scottsville, KY. In 1949 an Oklahoma oil man leased 6,000 acres and their well is right in the middle. They hit water at 125 ft., oil at 350 ft. and at 550 ft. hit the third largest natural gas well in Tennessee at the time. They capped the well, capable of one million cubic feet a day. Before he could start another well, the oil man passed away. We want someone to finish the job. Contact them at 615-841-3034 or email ptravis@nctc.com.

LEXINGTON, TN LEASE AVAILABLE-We own a 110 acre farm southeast of Lexington, TN. Our spring fed creek always has a rusty tinged color to the soil and an oily sheen on the surface. There are no nearby roads or farm equipment, so it isn't a spill. Contact Dave Hays, 1665 Harrington, TN 731-967-1616.
