TRAVEL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE HAMPTON INN, EAGLE’S NEST- After you have made your reservations, you’ll need to know how to get there: The Hampton Inn is on Highway 27 between the Somerset Mall and Wal-Mart Superstore.  To the Eagle’s Nest Country Club-take Highway 27 north to the East 80 Bypass.  Turn right (east) and go to the fourth stoplight (not counting the one at 27 and 80).  Turn left on Highway 39 and go about 5 miles. Watch for the Eagle’s Next Signs on the right. After the stop sign turn left and continue on to the club. You can get to the refinery by turning East off  Highway 27 at The Kentucky Department of Transportation’s parking lot (near traffic light 13). You’ll be at the Somerset front door.

CHRISTMAS PARTY SPONSORS NEEDED-We still need a few $100 sponsors for the Chrismas Party.  Sponsors to date include: B&H Supply, McJunkin Appalachian, New River Energy, Bill Ray, Anne Byrd, Rusty Liming, Mark Liming, Citizens Gas Utility District, Halliburton St. Joseph Petroleum and Young Oil Corporation.

PLUGGING, PERMIT BOND INFO FROM AC INSURANCE-According to Bob Nelson, “many operators call us in need of a bond ‘yesterday’.  For many operators doing a high volume of exploration, we have provided pre-signed bonds.  This allows the bonding company to fill in the well name and sent originals direct to the State, speeding the process.  In some cases, we have been asked to fax a copy then mail the original to the State.  Because there is a problem when requesting that bonds be released, faxed copies won’t be accepted.  The bond company will only accept their original bond back together with the State’s release.  Unless they have proper release documents prior to the anniversary billing of a given bond, they expect to receive premium payment.  Often, we’re told the bond was lost, we lost it, the bond company lost it, etc.  The State is not going to release any bond without the operator specifically requesting, in writing, for the bond to be released.  After they sign of on the well, they will send the original bond and release to the bonding company.  Only then, will the operator be relieved of future premiums.”

SEI ENERGY PURCHASING GAS-TOGA member Brad Sawyer wrote recently to remind TOGA members that SEI Energy is a gas purchaser, based in Atlanta, GA, that is very interested in buying their gas.  “In order to win their business, SEI will provide them superior service and pay then a higher price that they are currently receiving.  I would like to convey that we are not concerned about volume of gas they are producing.  We are just as eager to purchase small packages as we are larger packages.  Our toll free number is 866-318-4700.”

TOGA “SITE COORDINATOR” TRAINING TO BE REVIEWED-The TOGA board of directors will review the newly created Site Coordinator Training program, now required by the state, at the December 13th meeting in Somerset. A Site Coordinator will be required to be responsible for each drilling location after April 23, 2003.

DRILLING COMMENTS DUE DEC. 6-The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation has asked for the public’s comments and recommendations on Tennessee’s drilling rules and regulations, for a study committee’s review.
