TENGASCO’S
GAS PRODUCTION DOUBLES STATE OUTPUT-Tennessee’s
natural gas production doubled when Tengasco began selling gas to Eastman
from its Swan Creek field, according to a news release issued by the
Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and the
Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.
The news release noted that in 2000, the state produced
1.15 billion cubic feet of gas from 700 wells. In about two months,
Tengasco has produced 372.8 million cubic feet of gas, which equates to
2.5 billion cubic feet on an annualized basis, noted Tengasco chairman and
CEO Mike Ratliff.
Dr. Robert D. Hatcher, who holds the chair as University
of Tennessee/Oak Ridge National Laboratory Distinguished Scientist in the
Geology Department of UT, says there is a good possibility that there are
other Swan Creek look-alike structures in Tennessee.
“Even cursory examination of the state geological map of
Tennessee reveals numerous structures-both like Swan Creek and not-that
could be productive”, explains Hatcher .
“Closer examination of these potential plays indicate at least 20
to 30 possibilities.”
NOW
THEY KNOW THERE IS OIL & GAS IN TENNESSEE-Right in the
middle of the 2001 Producing Property Exchange in Houston, August 7-8,
TOGA had a booth along with
Marathon Oil Company, Ryder Scott, Samson Resources, Comerica Bank, Harken
Energy Corp, HIS Energy and a host of other leaders in the oil and gas
production and financial industry. The
“There really is oil and gas in Tennessee” over the TOGA booth brought
a lot of smiles from the oilmen and many stopped by to learn what was
going on in Tennessee.
It was encouraging to learn that the majority of those
attending the show knew about Tengasco’s Knox play and a surprisingly
large number knew about Miller Petroleum’s involvement.
Quite a few were aware of the success Tennessee operators such as
Young Oil Corp. are having in Overton County.
Those who didn’t know what is going on in Tennessee do
now. The booth was manned by
TOGA President Bill Goodwin and Bob Nelson, AC Insurance, the firm that
insures many operators. In
addition, Paul Strzala and Nick Pustay, Kingston Oil Corp. helped out on
the first day of the show.
The really good news for Tennessee was that lots of folks
asked lots of questions about what was happening in Tennessee and how
could they get involved. They
also took home our information pack, with information about Tennessee and
the operators who sponsored the booth.
The other good news is that there is a lot of money chasing very
few deals. Now is a great
time to be in the oil business.
Here are the sponsors who helped made our appearance in
this major oil show possible: Ohio Kentucky Oil Corp., Miller Petroleum,
Inc., B&H Supply, Inc., Hein Oil Company, Bill Ray, TMD Energy,
Kingston Oil Corp, Young Oil Corp., and Saint Joseph Petroleum.
WHITESTAR
HAS IT ALL-Our neighboring booth at the Producing Property
Exchange was Whitestar Digital Mapping and Geospatial Wisdom.

well data. They can deliver
well data by the state or county, as well as maps. Price depends on the

TOGA
BOARD MEMBER STARTS OWN FIRM-Lynn Wagoner resigned his position
with Ohio Kentucky Oil Corp., on July 31, 2001 to launch his own firm.
The new firm to be known as Signature Oil will be headquartered in
Lexington, Ky.
SAVE
DOMESTIC OIL KEEPS WINNING-There has been
a lot of court action in the U.S. Court of Appeals, but the net effect is
that Save Domestic Oil’s (SDO) dumping case is back before the
Department of Commerce and they must give SDO standing.
