CRUDE PRICES DIP, GAS HEADS TO SUMMER-South Kentucky Purchasing was paying $22 per  barrel as of March 29th.  That was down from $23.50 on the 28th. The price was $22.75 on the 22nd, dipped to $22.50 on the March 23, hit $23.50 on the 24th.  The Energy Information Administration is reporting that it expects the WTI spot price to remain near $30 for the rest of 2001, perhaps losing $1 a barrel between 2001 and 2002.

Natural gas prices are off again with the April NYMEX posted price of $5.621Mmbtu.  Although prices will dip in the summer, expect prices to ease up as storage levels are refilled.  The American Gas Association is reporting that as of February, storage levels in America were at 29% capacity.  It will take 2.35 Tcf to bring the storage fields up to 100% capacity before winter 2001.
