NEW PARADIGM PRESIDENT SPEAKS TO TOGA- Gerry
Calhoun, President, New Paradigm Exploration Services, explained to TOGA members at the
September meeting how the companys aromatic soil gas analysis works. For
generations, expert acknowledged that Benzene and Toluene (BTEX) form anomalous
concentrations and migrate to the surface directly above oil accumulations. New Paradigm
is the worlds only provider of technology that can identify BTEX vertical migration
in the field. The firms gas analysis gives operators 94% accuracy in predicting dry
or marginal production and 71% accuracy in predicting commercial production. For more
information, call Gerry at 615-383-0570.
MILLER HITS BIG WELL, SELLS KENTUCKY LEASES -Miller Petroleum (MILL:OTCBB) has announced the completion of the Dewey
Sutton #1 well in Hancock County. The well came in natural at 3,093 feet in the Trenton
and tested at a rate of 100 BOD. The well is located on a farmout from Tengasco, Inc.,
which has hit about 20 oil and gas wells in the area. Some of the gas wells tested more 6
Mmcf/d. A pipeline is under construction and is expected to be completed soon.
Miller also announced it sold 40,000 acres of leases, known as the
S.M.E.P.A. leases in Leslie, Clay, Harlan and Knox County, Kentucky to an undisclosed
purchaser for $2 million. Miller said the sale reduces the companys debt by about
50%. The firm will use the net proceeds to continue to develop its 20 location farmout
with Tengasco in the Hancock County area and gas drilling.
YOUNG OIL CORP DEEPENS WRIGHT #1, 102 BOD- Young
Oil Corporation announced that when it deepened the Wright #1 again, this time to 1,150
feet, the well was put on pump and began producing at a rate of 102 BOD. The well was
first drilled in January 2000. It came in flowing from the Upper Sunnybrook at 130 BOD
from 540 feet. It was then drilled to 750 feet and it flowed at the rate of 48 barrels an
hour, then production dropped off so Young deepened it to the Stones River.

Party Chairman Anne Byrd said plans are nearly complete for the annual Tennessee Oil &
Gas Association Christmas Party to be held at the Cedar Bluff Holiday Inn in Knoxville on
Saturday, December 9th. "We need both reservations and sponsors,"
said Byrd. Sponsorships are $100, which keeps the price of the party low, only $25 per
couple. But we need to know very soon how many to expect." Members and guests are
welcome. For reservations, sponsors information or questions, call the TOGA office

NOT ENOUGH GAS AROUND According to a
recent article in Business Week, national gas is hot. There is not enough around and no
relief in site. Some analysts believe natural gas prices could zoom. The article notes
that the biggest new demand for gas is coming from power plants, to generate electricity
for the exploding population and high-tech gadgets. As a result, demand for natural gas no
longer peaks in the winter or saga in the summer. This adds up to a major transition for
the natural gas industry and higher prices. Today, gas provides about 20% of U.S. energy
needs. Forecasts call for a jump to 30% by 2015.
With supplies already tight, this surge seems guaranteed to lock in
higher priceswith the possibility of drastic price spikes in the face of concerns
about a near-term shortfall, the national business magazine predicts.
SAVE DOMESTIC OIL WINS IN COURT- Judge
Thomas Aquilino of the U.S. Court of International Trade issued an order in September
remanding Save Domestic Oils appeal in their crude oil anti-dumping case back to the
Department of Commerce with specific instructions to initiate an investigation
immediately. In short, they won, says Harold Hamm, Chairman. SDO needs your financial
support to continue the fight: Save Domestic Oil, P.O. Box 862, Enid, OK 73702, call:
580-548-5131, fax 580-242.
OIL PRICE DIPS BUT STILL GOOD,
NATURAL GAS GETTING BETTER- OPEC announcements had a negative
impact on oil prices, which had hit $30 here on September 6th. By October 6th,
prices at South Kentucky Purchasing was off the $30 price, paying $26.50, but they
recovered a bit to $28th on October 10th. At least they are headed
back in the right direction. Citizens Gas Utility District is paying $5.19 for October
gas, less brokerage and other charges, up from the $4.52 Citizens paid in September.
DENVER PROSPECT FAIR &
TECHNOFEST, NOV. 7TH- The expo, sponsored by the

PRESIDENTAL CANDIDATES UNVEIL
NATIONAL ENERGY PLAN- Both the candidates for President have
now spoken on energy. The Bush plan focuses on promoting domestic drilling, including 8%
of the Artic National Wildlife Refuse. The Gore plan doesnt call for any wildlife or
offshore drilling, but rather tax credits for public conservation. Check out both
candidates and vote.
